What does Hygge mean?

"Hygge" is a Danish word that is hard to translate into a single term, but it describes the feeling of coziness, comfort, and well-being. It’s about enjoying the small, precious moments in life – whether with family, friends, or in an inviting, relaxed environment.

We named our chalet in Renesse "Hygge" because we discovered this special way of life through family gatherings on the Danish island of Bornholm. Every three years, our family comes together from all over the world to spend unforgettable days on Bornholm. These gatherings, where we share time together, relax, and celebrate life, embody the true Hygge feeling.

With our chalet, we want to pass on this special experience on the coast of Renesse. The relaxing sea air, the modern yet cozy decor, and the closeness to nature provide the perfect setting to enjoy beautiful moments together and escape everyday life – for your very own personal "Hygge" experience.
